AI SUMA Barbera d'Asti DOC Braida 2020 - Braida / Giacomo Bologna

About the wine

With sensitivity and instinct, the winemaker from the Italian winery Braida / Giacomo Bologna masters this red wine in the picturesque and fertile landscape of Piedmont. This outstanding red wine 2015 — AI SUMA Barbera d'Asti DOC Braida is literally a hit down to the last drop! Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Barbera is great with pasta or Piedmontese dishes.

Braida / Giacomo BolognaRed wine | 75cl1616°-18°CThe individual character of this wine is due to the Barbera. Outstanding notes of lavender and black cherry give it its fruity structures.
Tasting note
Very intense purple with ruby red shimmer. Sensual and richly scented on the nose, with notes of wild berries and fine wood, accompanied by vanilla, licorice, cocoa and a touch of black pepper. Complex and powerful on the palate, intense, red and dark berries, fine roasted aromas, lots of melting, present and juicy tannins. A wine that, despite its concentration, is elegant and sensual. Very long-lasting aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
A treat with hearty meat dishes and aged cheese.
Vinification
The grapes for this exceptional wine are harvested as a selection in the best vineyards and then strictly selected. After squeezing the grapes, the mash ferments for 20 days in stainless steel containers. This is followed by biological acid degradation and aging for around 15 months in new French barriques. The wine is then aged in the bottle for a further twelve months before being sold.
