About the wine
Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this provocative Merlot 2017 — Amant tinto! You can describe nature in Catalonia with words such as barren. However, the Spanish winery Clos d’Agon is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Merlot can be served very well with poultry or slightly spicy, red meat.
Tasting note
A strong body and distinctive acidity result in the fruity red wine, which, balanced with fine tannins in the mouth, shows plenty of character and class.

Vinification
Die neueste Linie von Clos d'Agon namens "Amant" zeichnet sich durch einen anderen als den gewohnten Weinstil des Hauses aus. Der Amant Tinto mit einem grossen Anteil Merlot, wird nach der Lese zuerst einer fünftägigen Kaltstandzeit unterzogen, anschliessend wird die Maische im Stahltank vergoren. Der weitere Ausbau wird in Barriques aus französischer Eiche vollzogen und dauert 16 Monate.
