About the wine
Cantine Leonardo da Vinci, founded in 1961, has been the owner of Villa da Vinci since the early 1990s. Here, the Leonardo da Vinci method is intensively studied and interpreted in a modern way. Great wines are produced under the keywords innovation, observation and respect for nature. The region is also ideal for the highest wine quality: Here, in the valley of the Arno, the vineyards face south — the grapes can ripen perfectly. A constant supply of fresh air from the sea removes moisture and ensures healthy grapes. And the soil, once a sea basin, is crisscrossed by nutrient-rich mussels and lime and is responsible for a balanced, harmonious structure of the wines.
Tasting note
Dense ruby red with intense violet reflections in the glass, aromas of dried plum, raisin, licorice and vanilla on the nose, plus notes of plum, vanilla and cocoa on the palate: This harmonious, full-bodied, powerful wine not only impresses with its aromas, but also with supple tannins, an incredibly soft, full body and an unforgettably long finish.
