About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Schola Sarmenti is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the flourishing and fertile countryside of Puglia. We have a special, provocative Primitivo from 2016 for you, which is a source of enthusiasm among many wine connoisseurs. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Primitivo with brasato or pizza.
Tasting note
This blend of Negroamaro and Primitivo delights with its dark ruby red with purple reflections. On the nose, Armentino has aromas of black cherry, dark berries, blood orange, pleasant marmalade notes and a large oriental spice bazaar. On the palate, it is extremely fruity with lots of spice, some chocolate, a pleasant tannin structure and a subtle acidity. A powerful yet elegant southern Italian with lots of charm.
Culinary recommendation
With Italian specialities such as pizza, pasta or risotto. With spicy starters, grilled meats, bistecca...
Vinification
The grapes for this Primitivo come from vines of an average age of 35 years, all of which are grown in the Alberello system. The grapes are picked by hand and sorted again at the winery. After fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months before maturing in the bottle for at least half a year.
