About the wine
Fabrizio and Mario Ragnedda were already aware of the potential of the Vermentino grape back in the 80s. With innovative techniques, they set new standards and quickly became one of Vermentino's leading producers. They were also the first in the world to vinify this grape variety in wooden barrels.
Tasting note
Deep ruby red with purple hues. Typical aromas of black berries, cherries, blackberries, spices and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, spicy, ripe, concentrated with fine acidity. Long and lasting aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Assajé Capichera Isola dei Nuraghi IGT goes well with strong lamb stew, red meat and duck. Our recommendation: Enjoy this red wine at a slightly chilled 16°-19°C. The recommended enjoyment phase of this wine is 5 to 8 years in the following period.
Vinification
The selected grapes are gently pressed after manual harvesting and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about three weeks. This is followed by 12 months of aging to 50% in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and 50% in barriques.
