Barbaresco DOCG 2018 - Pio Cesare

About the wine

Since 1881, the winery founded by Pio Cesare has stood for the highest level of quality and tradition in the production of the famous wines from the Langhe region near Alba. Pio Cesare was one of the very first wine producers who believed in the potential and quality of Barbera, Barbaresco and Barolo and in the possibilities of Piedmont. Since the middle of the 19th century, Pio Cesare has been one of the top addresses in Piedmont and produces great wines on this terroir with great dedication and philosophy, with enormous quality efforts. In the fifth generation, this top winery, which is now famous worldwide for Barolo and Barbaresco, is run. The current owners Giuseppe Boffa (his wife Rosi is the granddaughter of the founder Pio Cesare) and Pio Boffa also see themselves as traditionalists. Quality rather than quantity has always been the philosophy of Pio Cesare. Pio Cesare owns 50 hectares of vineyards with famous Barolo sites.

Tasting note
Ripened garnet red. Ripe and intense bouquet with distinct spicy aromas, raisins and vanilla, black tea, roses, a complex and complex aroma. On the palate, the Barbaresco Pio Cesare is rich in extracts and powerful, lots of elegant tannins, also has melting, wonderful to drink now and for many years to come.
