About the wine
Fertile and sunny landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Giovanni Rosso conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Easter 2019 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this snappy red wine 2015 — Barbera d'Alba DOC Donna Margherita. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Barbera is ideal to be served with antipasti or strong, dark meat.
Tasting note
The wine is ruby red and bright. On the nose, it develops a concentrated bouquet with intense fruity and floral notes, including notes of plums, blackberries, raspberries and ripe blueberries. The taste is pleasant and full-bodied, with strong tannins and rich fruity freshness.
Culinary recommendation
A red wine for the whole meal, which is perfect with Piedmontese dishes, but also with red and white meats, cheeses and sausages. Excellent with beef stew.
Vinification
The fascinating and long-lasting Barbera d'Alba DOC from Giovanni Rosso is made on the hills of Piedmont and is a Piedmontese red wine of great drinkability and territorial ties. After careful hand picking and selection in the vineyard, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and the resulting wine is aged in French oak barrels. The result is an excellent companion for long dinners with friends or convivial Sunday dinners.
