About the wine

Rocche dei Manzoni's success story begins in 1974, when Valentino and Jolanda Migliorini left their Michelin-starred restaurant and bought an 8th century farm in a prime location in Monforte d'Alba. With a great deal of passion and “lavoro da certosino”, the most intensive work, they turned it into a sample product whose reputation has become an integral part of the wine world. Her philosophy is the perfect combination of tradition and innovation. Rocche dei Manzoni today produces a range of high-quality wines, sparkling and dessert wines as well as grappe in five locations, which are famous all over the world.

Barbera d'Alba DOC La Cresta
A rich, balanced, sustainable wine with a very dark black red color. Prunes, plums, ripe black berries and tender dried fruits characterize the very strong bouquet. There are also some spicy (licorice, vanilla) and toasted aromas (chocolate, smoke, toast) as well as a hint of leather scent. On the palate, there are juicy tannins, a very harmonious, full-bodied structure and the whole range of berries, dried fruit and stone fruit, as well as the beautiful roasted aroma, complemented by a little clove.
Goes well with pasta with meat, beef with dark sauces, grilled or fried, and veal with dark sauces.
