About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Giacosa Fratelli masters this red wine in the sunny and fertile countryside of Piedmont. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Nebbiolo with beef or burrata.
Antonio Galloni: 92/100
Tasting note
Brilliant ruby. On the nose, of great complexity and density. There are aromas of plums, cherry jam, rose water, truffles, cigars and warm spices. On the palate, with lots of substance and at the same time elegance and finesse. The tannins are grainy and present. Long-lasting and well-balanced in the aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with a classic coniglio with polenta and vegetables.
Vinification
Only the best grapes are good enough for Bruno Giacosa's Vineyard Barolo “Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba”. After careful handpicking, the grapes are gently pressed and the mash is immediately fermented in a classic way. The young wine is then aged in wooden barrels for 24 to 48 months, followed by aging in the bottle for six to twelve months.
