About the wine
We have a special, strong Chardonnay from 2011 for you, which is a source of enthusiasm among many wine connoisseurs. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from Austrian Weingut Familie Umathum masters this white wine in the picturesque landscape of Burgenland. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Chardonnay can be served very well with soft cheese or asparagus.

Tasting note
White, sweet quality wine from Austria. The dessert wine is golden yellow in color, on the nose tropical fruits reminiscent of lychee, citrus and pineapple, aromas of ripe pears and quinces on the palate, a lively interplay between sweetness and acidity.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with blue cheese, aperitif and desserts.
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes are crushed in the cellar so that juice escapes and it can leach the sugar out of the shriveled berries. After two days, the mixture is gently pressed and fermentation begins slowly. Only some of the sugar is converted into alcohol. Fermentation is stopped by cooling and thus a natural residual sugar is retained in the wine. This type of sweet wine has centuries of tradition. The area around Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland is one of the most important areas for this sweet wine.
