Synergy can be described as one of the original Cape Blends in South Africa, in part because it was the first wine to bear the term Cape Blend on its label. This blend generally delivers more than enough in all aspects and has helped to cement Beyerskloof's reputation among wine drinkers as a quality red wine producer. This Cape Blend combines the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruitiness of Pinotage and the softness of Merlot, bringing the different varieties together to create a balance unique to the vintage. The alcoholic fermentation takes place for 6 to 7 days at 25 °C in open ferments, with regular punch downs. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 12-14 months in 5% new and 95% used French oak barrels.
