About the wine
A must for connoisseurs, this dominant Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 — Botrosecco Maremma Toscana IGT Le Mortelle! The winemaker from the Italian winery Le Mortelle has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the blooming and fertile landscape of Tuscany. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Cabernet Sauvignon with pizza with mushrooms or red meat.
Tasting note
Deep ruby with purple reflections. Intense, honest and wonderfully fruity-spicy on the nose. Blackberry, reminiscent of sweet cassis. Blackberry jam, mint, hot spices. Full and grippy on the palate. The tannins are of good, mature quality. Solid aromas and skilfully structured. The finish is long and is accompanied by lots of ripe, black fruit.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with tender cuts of beef or lamb, fried or grilled.
Vinification
The grapes are already selected during harvesting. The maceration period and fermentation take place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Until the end of the year and the completion of the malolactic fermentation, the young wine remains in the steel tanks. Only then is it pulled onto small oak barrels and matured in them for twelve months.
