About the wine
Cheers to the Azores! In the past, their wines were even delivered to the Tsar's court — until phylloxera arrived. Thanks to committed winemakers such as António Maçanita from Azores Wine Company, the UNESCO wine region is on the upswing again today.
Tasting note
Fresh mineral and salty start, with the matrix of Azorean grape varieties and terroir, but with a more luscious aroma, more tropical, more Azorean pineapple and passion fruit, fresh fruit with acidity.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with oysters and mussels, but also with fish, seafood or salad dishes.
Vinification
The grapes are carefully selected on a sorting table, then gently squeezed and transported into the fermentation tanks without the aid of pumps. There, they are macerated at a low temperature for 3 to 6 hours, and the resulting sangria ferments spontaneously at 12 ºC to preserve its aromatic potential.
