About the wine
The Casanova di Neri winery was founded in 1971, when Giovanni Neri acquired an extensive estate in the municipality of Montalcino and expanded it again and again with the best locations. Casanova di Neri is the result of a creative and philosophical development to create a novel Brunello that reinterprets tradition. And the success of these wonderful wines speaks for itself.
James Suckling: 92/100
Tasting note
Bright red, fascinating nose with the freshness of the 2018 vintage. On the palate, a beautiful balance between acidity and tannins, with a harmonious and elegant finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, Mediterranean cuisine, pasta and pizza.
Vinification
The manual harvest took place in the first week of October. The selected grapes were destemmed and fermented with natural yeasts at controlled temperature for approx. 25 days. The pomace hat was regularly wetted from above so that it did not dry out. It was then gently pressed and the wine matured in French barriques for 42 months. During this time, the biological acid degradation took place. After bottling, the wine matured for a further six months before being released for sale.
