About the wine
Blooming and fertile Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Castello Banfi conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Sangiovese with pizza or pasta.
Tasting note
Brilliant ruby red. Elegant, delicately scented nose. Aromas of plums, sour cherry compote, dried fruit and fine roasted nuances, some tobacco. Nice aroma density. Strong, well-structured body. Present tannins of good quality. The finish is long, elegant and precise.
Culinary recommendation
It easily stands up to rich meat dishes.
Vinification
Only the best Sangiovese grapes (locally known as Brunello) are used for the royal wine of Tuscany, Brunello. Fermentation takes place in composite Horizon steel and oak tanks. The wine is then aged for 2 years to 80% in 60 hl and 90 hl French oak barrels and 20% in 350 L French oak barrels.
