About the wine
This snappy Aglianico 2015 — Cabánico Basilicata IGT Rosso is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! The winemaker from the Italian winery Alovini has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing landscape in Basilicata. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Aglianico with beef tartare or leek vegetables.
Tasting note
Deep opaque color On the nose, a wonderful bouquet of black berries and spicy notes. The palate is velvety, supple and full-bodied. A wine that is immediately accessible and appears modern.

Vinification
Harvesting takes place early in the morning around September 20 for Cabernet and around October 20 for Aglianico and is done by hand. The grapes are transported to the vinification cellar as quickly as possible in small boxes of 12 kg capacity. The 10-day mash fermentation takes place in small tanks. The alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 23 and 28 °C. The ageing takes place partly in new French barriques and partly in 500-liter wooden barrels and lasts about 12 months. After barrel ageing, the young wines are blended into a 'cabanico'.
