About the wine

Joe Heitz was one of the outstanding pioneering personalities in the Napa Valley wine mecca, and today Kathleen and David Heitz ensure a brilliant continuation of this fascinating family story since 1961. Cabernet goes through a classic, lengthy Heitz vinification, aged in large American barrels and in French barriques. Intense color, spicy bouquet, typical cassis fruit, strong body, perfectly integrated tannins.

Tasting note
The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the iconic Heitz winery undergoes classic vinification with long aging in large American barrels and in French barriques. Intense color, spicy bouquet with fine mint notes, typical cassis fruit, strong body, perfectly integrated tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Unsere Empfehlung: Die perfekte Trinktemperatur für den Rotwein liegt bei leicht gekühlten 15°-18°C. Im folgenden Zeitraum liegt die ideale Genussphase dieses Weins: 2010 - 2028. Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley passt bestens zu Pizza mit Pilzen, Ribeye Steak und rotem Fleisch.
Vinification
Ein paar Worte zur Vinifikation: Sehr selektive Handlese, Spontangärung. Der Ausbau für die Dauer von von zirka 24 Monaten findet in zwei drittel neuen französischen und amerikanischen Barriques statt. Danach werden die Weine unfiltriert abgefüllt.
