About the wine
The winemaker from the South African winery Thelema Mountain Vineyards absolutely masters his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the beautiful and sunny countryside of the coastal region. This strong red wine 2014 — Cabernet Sauvignon is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Tasting note
Complex and stylish, with aromas of blackcurrant leaves and coffee beans that blend into a structured and racy palate with notes of leather, dark chocolate and sweet blackberry. The firm tannins provide a gripping mouthfeel from the first sip to the long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled roast beef with béarnaise sauce and arugula salad.
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, sorted and placed in stainless steel tanks. There, the mash is fermented with regular pumped over. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French wooden barrels and the wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels of which 30% were new.
