About the wine
Fertile and blooming landscapes of Tuscany give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Azienda Il Grillesino conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
A rich, dense ruby. The powerful, complex nose reveals notes of fully ripe, dark berries such as cassis and black cherries. It is accompanied by prunes, licorice, vanilla and warm, well-integrated spicy notes. Full-bodied on the palate, with noticeable, grippy tannins and very ripe fruit aromas. Independent wine with lots of spice, bite and a lingering finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pot roast with polenta or lamb gigot.
Vinification
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested fully ripe, lightly crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The ageing takes place for 16-18 months in new barriques made of Tronçais, Allier and American oak. The wine is then bottled without filtration and left to rest for another ten months before being sold.
