As far as the weather is concerned, an up and down with pronounced, very strong contrasts. A wonderful, dry spring that ends with a very hot June; a more autumnal, fresh and rainy summer; a warm, sun-kissed and very dry September, which could have been August. The secret to this vintage's success is based both on its soils and on the work of our winemakers: The winners were the water-draining chalk soils in the lower middle section of the slope. They succeeded in diverting the excess water from the summer and avoiding excessive growth. Our increasingly efficient winemaking practices also ensured a perfect balance of grapes and optimal ripeness.
