Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2014 - Louis Roederer

About the wine

Louis Roederer is one of the few Champagne houses that has been family-owned since its foundation in 1776. Champagne Louis Roederer's greatest asset lies in the 242 hectares of its own vines - in the best sites of Champagne - harmoniously distributed over the three most important production areas: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. The parcels of the vineyards are classified on average as 98% Grand Cru and cover two thirds of the house's grape requirements. The jewel of the house of Louis Roederer is the Cuvée Cristal. It was created in 1876 especially for Tsar Alexander II. The grapes come exclusively from the 10 best sites of the Louis Roederer vineyard. They are classified as 100 % Grand Cru and come from vines that are at least 25 years old.

Tasting note
Radiant, strong golden robe, wonderful shine. Dynamic perlage, non-tearing, fine string of beads Intense, wonderfully fragrant bouquet of great purity. Notes of concentrated and candied citrus fruits blend delicately with harvest aromas and impressions of lightly roasted almonds. The generous, fruity bouquet appears partly fresh, partly slightly acidic, energetic and delicate. The palate is fruity and the texture is velvety soft. The gentle effervescence is perfectly integrated and extremely elegant. The purity and perfection of ripe yellow fruit blends with the intense chalky freshness that is so typical of Cristal. The impression is powdery and saline at the same time. In the middle of the palate, thanks to the partial aging in oak barrels, which provides spice and juiciness, dense, gentle, concentrated and long. The long, salty and wonderfully elegant finish offers a true crescendo and reveals a velvety soft, grainy texture.
