About the wine
Sunny and blooming landscapes in California give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the US winery Merryvale conjures up this white wine with refinement and experience. Do you already know the dominant white wine Chardonnay Starmont with the 2013 vintage? If not, it's time! The Flaschenpost team guarantees a culinary experience when you serve this Chardonnay with goat cheese or fish with herbs.
Tasting note
Brilliant golden yellow. Wonderful fruit aromas of peach and honeydew melon rise to the nose, surrounded by fine minerals, toast and vanilla notes. The wine is round and full-bodied on the palate with a long, intense finish.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Chardonnay Starmont goes perfectly with poultry, goat cheese and fish with herbs. Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the white wine is slightly chilled 10°-14°C.
Vinification
The vinification took place as follows: whole grape pressing; fermentation to 40% in French barriques and 60% in stainless steel tanks with subsequent yeast charge storage and regular bâtonnage; partial biological acid degradation. The further ageing takes place in barriques for 10 months, using about 10% new and 90% once used barrels.
