About the wine

The Utiel-Requena wine region is located in the hilly highlands west of Valencia and owes its name to the two largest towns in the region. One specialty of the D.O. is wines made from the long-neglected Bobal grape, which scores points with exciting spicy notes and dark berry aromas. It has contributed a large part to the immense quality leap that the area has made in recent years. Finca Casa Lo Alto is located west of the village of Requena and was founded in 1796. It is located on a hill with wonderful views of the surrounding fertile hills. The Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Bobal varieties grow on around 70 hectares. Garnacha and the white Chardonnay variety complement the variety table.
