Tasting note
Medium ruby with violet reflections. On the nose, warm, ripe notes of dark fruit, subtle roasted aromas, herbal influences and a touch of leather. The wine is balanced on the palate. A juicy texture, with finely honed tannins, again warm aromas of ripe, dark berries and spices. The aftertaste is rich, long and aromatic.
Culinary recommendation
An ideal accompaniment to lamb, game and beef, seasoned with herbs, and to mature French cheeses.
Vinification
The various grape varieties from vines that are on average 45 years old are harvested and vinified separately. After fermentation in steel tanks, the young wine is aged for 18 months in traditional large wooden barrels.
