About the wine
Château Faugères's vineyards cover 42 hectares in a natural amphitheatre with ideal sunlight and good drainage. In the cellar designed by Mario Botta, 50% of the wines are aged in new and one-year barriques for around 14 months.

Tasting note
Deep purple color with purple shimmer and black core. Intense and concentrated nose, dark berries and mild spices, fine roasted aroma, takes time to open up. Rich in character on the palate, well balanced with a juicy finish and freshness, ripe tannins and mild acidity. A wine with impressive length, aromatic depth and outstanding potential.
Culinary recommendation
An ideal accompaniment to elaborate meat dishes with lamb, game or beef, with pies or terrines.
Vinification
Silvio Denz manages this winery with the personal advice of Count Compte de Neipperg and Michel Rolland. After harvesting and selecting by hand, the grapes are vinified in a wooden cuvier. Half of the subsequent aging takes place over 14 months in new and used French barriques.
