About the wine
The domain of Château Montrose, in the municipality of Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc, comprises 94 hectares of vines, which are planted around the castle. The château was built in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin. Very soon, the wines were appreciated by wine lovers, thanks to their specific character and their long shelf life. Today Château Montrose, after the Dollfus and Hostein families, is owned by the Charmolüe family. Montrose wines are among the most renowned in Bordeaux.
Robert Parker: 99+/100
Tasting note
Château Montrose captivates with its royal Cabernet Sauvignon bouquet; delicate scents of spices, licorice and tar are reflected in the nose. On the palate, it presents itself with a long body, an intense tannin-acid framework, firm astringency. A fleshy, long-lived Montrose.
