About the wine
Chateau Musar is Lebanon's most famous wine cellar. It does not own its own vineyards but is supplied with grapes by contracted wineries from the Bekaa Valley. However, tilling and vine care are subject to the management of the winery. The company's cellar technology meets the latest standards and is vinified in classic Bordeaux style. The wines are neither filtered nor refined. The result is powerful wines that revive the old wine tradition of Lebanon.
Tasting note
Rich lemon yellow with an appealing complex nose of ripe red apples, grapefruit, lime, orange blossom, honey, herbs, vanilla and fresh hay. On the palate, the white Musar is expressive and, despite being aged in the bottle for a long time, is still fresh and has further potential. Long and powerful aftertaste, honey, subtle wood aromas, lots of citrus fruits, caramelized apples and basil.
Vinification
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are gently pressed, then fermented in French barrels (with wood from Nevers) and stored on the yeast for nine months. After one year, the blending takes place and the wine matures in French barriques for a further six years.
