About the wine
Sylvie Vacheron's seven-hectare vineyards are located in the northeastern part of the appellation and border Beaucastel. The vineyards are cultivated organically (certified since 2010) and are mostly in the process of conversion to biody namie. Due to an accident involving an earlier generation of the family (the grandfather, who only thought in the short term, was thus able to save taxes!) A large part of the “Quartz-Chateauneuf-du-Pape” vineyard was designated as Cotes du Rhone. So there is extremely little Chateauneuf, but a brilliant Cotes du Rhone. The winemaker and winery director Bruno Gaspard who follows the tragic death of Monsieur Vacheron is less explosive and extroverted as a type, but more talented as a winemaker and interprets the terroir more carefully. The wines show exceptional purity as well as plenty of deep, alcoholic, rich and intoxicating fruit and, in the best case, attract considerable attention. In terms of fineness, minerality and terroir expression, there is little room for improvement on the Rhone.
