About the wine
With the dominant white wine 2018 — Chenin Blanc Kottabos, you can offer your guests something very special. The winemaker from the South African winery Boschkloof has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and finesse are the hallmarks of this white wine, which originates in the graceful and enchanting landscape of the coastal region. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this chenin blanc with puff pastry or pretzel sticks.

Tasting note
Aromas of naartjie, peach, minerality and a beer-like yeast note. The palate has a nice fruit expression, moderate acidity and a gentle, spicy finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with an aperitif or a light lunch.
Vinification
For the Kottabos, all grapes come from the slopes of Polkadraai in Stellenbosch. The area is full of granite and iron base soils and is close to the ocean of False Bay. This Chenin Blanc was sourced from two vineyards, both of which are over 30 years old and grow on beautiful granite soils. The wine has been carefully vinified to ensure that it shows the minerality of the granite soils. Naturally fermented in old oak and matured on fine yeast for 10 months.
