The grapes for this “old vine” Chenin Blanc come from a vineyard planted with bush vines in 1981, which is just 4.5 km from False Bay. The grape must was fermented spontaneously and the maturing wine was then treated as gently as possible to emphasize the expression of the terroir as much as possible. The nose and palate are dominated by notes of pear, white peach and lemon. The wine shows a very balanced interplay of rich texture and well-integrated acidity with a lasting finish with hints of a fine spiciness and orange blossom.
