The vineyard in which the grapes for the “Montane” grow is located, as its name suggests, at the foot of the Helderberg. Spontaneously fermented and extremely gently vinified, this Chenin Blanc clearly reflects its origin. On the nose and palate, the wine reveals an experience that can almost be described as “aristocratic”, as it impresses primarily with subtle apple fruit, notes of hay and a certain ginger spice. With a great texture, it also shows a distinctly mineral side and the perfectly adjusted acidity makes it almost “vibrate” in the glass. A hint of citrus fruit accompanies the long aftertaste.
