About the wine
The wine-growing regions of the South African winery Lourens Family stretch across the landscapes where the experienced winemaker produces this white wine. There is always something left over from Christmas dinner. Do you know that? Why not invite your friends to a glass of wine in the afternoon to enjoy the festive meal again and we recommend this strong white wine 2017 — Chenin Blanc Skuinskap Steen. The Flaschenpost team guarantees a culinary experience when you offer this chenin blanc with puff pastry or pretzel sticks.

Tasting note
It is quite strong on the nose, with a strong maritime element shining through and scents of sea spray and seaweed permeate the yellow plum fruit. The palate is very balanced with a fleshy, robust start. Tangerine, pineapple and a touch of ginger vie for attention. The finish may be a bit short, but concentrated and lively. Very fine. (This wine was not produced in 2019)
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with marinated bouchot mussels, oysters or a bouillabaisse.
Vinification
This wine is produced from a single vineyard planted in 1977 in Piekenierskloof in the Citrusdal district. The soils consist of decomposed sandstone soils, which lie at approx. 750m above sea level. This vineyard is passionately managed by the Sandell family and team. The wine is aged for 10 months in neutral oak barrels.
