About the wine
Volpaia is a small Tuscan village that is completely dedicated to viticulture. Pressing is now carried out in the medieval fortress, bottles are stored in the vaults of the churches and there is a tank of organic wine in the cellar in almost every house.
Tasting note
Balanced, sustainable and yet light: This garnet red wine impresses with its variety and quite strong aromas of sour cherry, slightly leathery aspects and spices such as nutmeg and pepper. On the palate, earthy aspects complement the aromas; the wine impresses with its harmonious, soft structure and juicy tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Typically goes well with lasagna, pate, dried meat, salami and rustic meat dishes, but also harmoniously accompanies fish and vegetable gratin.
