About the wine
This snappy Sangiovese 2014 — Chianti Classico Vigna Sorbo Gran Selezione DOCG wooden box crowns every festive meal with elegance and finesse. The winemaker from the Italian winery Fontodi has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the hallmarks of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing landscape of Tuscany. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this sangiovese with pizza or pasta.
Tasting note
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione comes from a southwestern location in Vigna del Sorbo with the oldest vines, the heart of the Azienda Fontodi. The yield is extremely low. The grapes (100% Sangiovese) ferment for three weeks with wild yeasts in steel tanks. The wine is then aged for two years in Tronçais or Allier oak barrels (50% new wood). The wine is neither refined nor filtered. The aromas are incredibly complex, concentrated, clearly defined and polished. The impression of strong race and aristocratic elegance continues on the palate and is remembered for a long time.

Goes well with lamb, beef, veal, venison, pork and grilled meat.
