This snappy Sangiovese 2014 — Chianti Classico Vigna Sorbo Gran Selezione DOCG wooden box crowns every festive meal with elegance and finesse. The winemaker from the Italian winery Fontodi has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and blooming landscape of Tuscany. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Sangiovese with pizza or pasta.
Tasting note
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione comes from a southwestern location Vigna del Sorbo with the oldest vines, at the heart of Azienda Fontodi. The yield is Extremely low. The grapes (100% Sangiovese) Ferment for three weeks with wild yeasts in steel tank. The wine then matures for two years in Tronçais or Allier oak barrels (50% virgin wood). The wine is neither refined nor filtered. The flavors are incredibly complex, concentrated, clearly defined and sanded. The impression of a strong breed and aristocratic elegance continues on the palate and is remembered for a long time.
