Ciampagnis Chardonnay DOC 2021 - Vie di Romans

About the wine

More than 100 years of winegrowing, and since 1978, the Gallo family, more specifically: Gianfranco Gallo, has been managing the Vie di Romans in Marino de Friuli between the Adriatic and the Alps. And he doesn't just lead it, he leads it at the top of Friuli. Because work is carried out here meticulously, plus very slow fermentation, long yeast storage, and approval only two years after harvest. The extremely long-lasting white wines have a sumptuous elegance and intense, exciting harmony that is not otherwise found in this perfection. Despite an impressive 60 ha and several 100,000 bottles, it is difficult to get hold of, these wines are too unusual, too outstanding, too popular. Extraordinary food and conversation companions!

Tasting note
Hand-forged Japanese knife. Cutting elegance, such a silky, harmonious yet tart light to green fruit, the surface is darker patterned, mineral structure, a touch of dark tones such as iron, ash, peat. Like a gentle cut on the palate, glides razor-sharp through the mouth, it doesn't take any strength here, that's pure elegance around the tart minerality, sharp. A Chardonnay like Japanese blacksmithing, the tart minerality becomes such a fine, soft-cutting elegance, that perfect sharpness, the craft never conceals steel, dark earth, iron, lasting. Wonderfully elegant, mineral, bitter and so harmonious Chardonnay!
