Tasting note
The Clos du Châtelard Extasis Rouge Grand Cru's playful scent spectrum of fruit compote, spices and tobacco shows aromatic complexity and plenty of pleasure potential. The dominant nuances of black cherry, black plum and black pepper shape their individual texture. A strong body and dominant acidity result in the fruity red wine, which, balanced with fine tannins in the mouth, shows a lot of character and class.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: Enjoy this red wine at a slightly chilled 14°-16°C. Flaschenpost team tip: Clos du Châtelard Extasis Rouge Grand Cru goes perfectly with red meat, pizza with mushrooms and Gruyère burgers.
Vinification
For many years, the entire winery has been managed according to environmentally friendly principles. Ripeness monitoring to determine harvest time, yield limit, harvest and hand-pick to keep berries intact. Additional sorting out of the best berries upon arrival in the cellar. Long mash fermentation with Ripasso type vinification (2nd fermentation on dried grape pomace). Ageing in oak barrels for 12 months.
