About the wine
The provocative Sauvignon Blanc 2016 — Col Matìss Sauvignon Friuli Colli Orientali Bianco DOC is the missing piece of the puzzle on your wine rack. The winemaker from the Italian winery La Tunella masters this white wine with sensitivity and intuition in the blooming and fertile landscape of Friuli. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Sauvignon Blanc can be served very well with white meat or goat cheese.
Tasting note
Rich and complex aroma on the nose, with elegant vegetal and fruity notes: sage and mint, yellow peach and lychee, then exotic fruits and grapefruit. On the palate, with a pleasant feel and mineral notes, fine spiciness and lively acidity, support the aromas and increase the anticipation of the next glass.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with spicy (starters) dishes, Asian dishes, fish and crustaceans
Vinification
The harvested grapes are cryomacerated for about 36 hours and then gently pressed. The must is statically decanted at cold temperature and then placed in a pre-prepared fermentation base (3-4 days in advance) with the best selected grapes of the same variety and then subjected to slow fermentation and refinement “sur lies”, at controlled temperature with frequent batonnage, in large (30 hl) Slavonian oak barrels. After maturing in the bottle for at least one year, the wine goes on sale.
