About the wine
The 2017 season was certainly one of the most complex of the last 20 years. Shoots in early April with regular spring temperatures were nullified by a new onset of winter, (20%) of the shoots burned, setting the season back by a full 3-4 weeks. Initially normal summer temperatures were replaced by very hot temperatures. All this was accompanied by a long period of drought. Fortunately, thanks to drip irrigation, Collazzi has the opportunity every year to make the decision not to let the vines get into water stress.
Tasting note
Intense red with purple-purple reflections, the nose is clean and precise, small black fruits combine with the harmonious aromas of plum and cherry, accompanied by vanilla and spicy licorice. Concentrated on the palate, but already balanced. The finish with lively and dense tannins is long and ends with notes of vanilla and cherry.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meats, roasts and game dishes.
Vinification
Read and select by hand. Each variety and plot is harvested and vinified separately. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques. Ageing in barriques for 18 months.
