About the wine
The winery was built in the High Middle Ages by the Count of Chalon-Arlay, Prince of Orange, at the foot of their mighty fortress. Later it became Royal Vineyard of England, Spain and then France. Today, the castle and winery is owned by Comte Alain de Laguiche. The vineyards extend over 30 hectares on rolling hills along the banks of the Bresse and not far from the foothills of the Jura. The vines grow on fossil-rich limestone soil and rich marl. Due to their south-facing slope, the vines are adequately illuminated by the sun and protected from the north winds by the hills.
Tasting note
Bright golden yellow, spicy nose of hazelnut, raisins and slightly oxidative. Apple, pears and flowers on the palate, complex and lively acidity.
