About the wine
The dominant Shiraz 2012 — Cote Rotie Blonde du Seigneur is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. The wine-growing regions of the French winery Domaine Georges Vernay stretch across the landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône, where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. The Flaschenpost team guarantees a dining experience when you serve this Shiraz with game or barbecue.
Tasting note
This Côte-Rôtie in the style of the Côte Blonde (with 5% Viognier) combines the powerful side of this region with more elegant floral notes. On the nose, the slightly smoky note, the aromas of black fruits, black olive, some pepper, lots of minerals and spice and a wonderful floral note inspire. On the palate, again, very aromatic with a soft tannin structure and a long-lasting finish. A wine that can be stored for 8-15 years without any problems.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty meat dishes, lamb, game, beef and Provencal dishes.
Vinification
The grapes from approx. 30-year-old vines are, of course, harvested by hand. After a long fermentation in steel tanks, the maturation takes place for approx. 18 months in French barriques, using approx. 25% virgin wood.
