About the wine
You will definitely enjoy the first-class Creation Pinot Noir, which was produced in 2017. The winemaker from the South African winery Creation Wines greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside.

Tasting note
This beautiful, elegant Pinot Noir is deep ruby red in color, shimmering and inviting in the glass. The intensely scented bouquet shows a mix of red berry aromas, elegant vanilla and a touch of wood spice. These aromas continue on the palate, where soft, supple tannins contribute to a dense structure. An excellently balanced wine with a long-lasting, unforgettable aftertaste.

Vinification
In 2002, Swiss-born Jean-Claude (JC) and South African-born Carolyn Martin (née Finlayson) took on the challenge of founding a winery in a remote corner of the Walker Bay wine region. Their forty-hectare, hilly land on Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge had never been planted with vines before, but they saw the potential and set about turning it into an exemplary wine farm. Located high on Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge near Hermanus, Creation's vines climb the steep hills of Babylon Toren Mountain to 350 m above sea level. During the annual growing season, temperatures rarely rise above 30°C, and the cool night temperature is 12°C below the daytime temperature throughout the year. The Pinot vineyards are planted on southeast, east and northeast slopes on old clay-clay soils. The grapes were harvested by hand, 20% fermented spontaneously as whole bunches of grapes in stainless steel tanks. Ageing in 10% new French oak barrels for ten months.
