About the wine
Do you already know the dominant Montepulciano Cumaro Rosso Conero Riserva DOC Barrique with the 2013 vintage? If not, it's time! The winemaker from the Italian winery Umani Ronchi masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the blooming and fertile landscape of the Marche region. Tasting note
Dark ruby red with purple hues. Intense, complex and pleasantly fragrant on the nose. There are aromas of dark berries, cloves, some gingerbread spice and brown bread as well as fine toasted notes. The palate is very complex and has a juicy structure typical of the grape variety. With finely honed, spine-giving tannins. The palate has a warm spiciness, cedar wood, black cherries and plums. The finish is complex, robust and long.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with braised rabbit, game and grilled specialties.
Vinification
The best batches of the Rosso Conero sites are used for this cru. After harvesting by hand, the grapes are immediately crushed. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged for twelve to 14 months in French barriques and a further seven months in bottle.
