About the wine
With this powerful Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 — Curtis Merlot Cabernet Alto Adige DOC, the term taste takes on a new meaning. The winemaker from the Italian winery Kellerei Kurtatsch has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and picturesque landscape in South Tyrol. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Cabernet Sauvignon can be served very well with pizza with mushrooms or ribeye steak.
Tasting note
The Merlot gives the wine fullness and soft tannins. The elegant fruit comes from Cabernet Sauvignon, which is reminiscent of black currants. In the “CURTIS” cuvèe, these grape varieties come together to create a wine with a great deal of richness, elegance and finesse. A strong red wine with an elegant, soft body.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, lamb, game and mature cheeses.
Vinification
Fermentation in stainless steel with subsequent acid degradation; ageing 10% for 12 months in French barriques 90% large wood.
