About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Cantine Pellegrino Fine masters this white wine in the fertile and blooming landscape of Sicily. With this discreet Grillo 2016 — Divino Amore IGP Cuvee Bianco Sicilia, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this grillo with vegetable buffers or rice dishes.
Tasting note
Fresh and lively, this wine is a collection of regional grapes from Sicily. It impresses with its slightly yellowish color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it captivates with floral and fruity notes of jasmine blossoms, almonds, sage, peach and melon. The typical fruity taste of the Zibibbo grape (85%) unfolds on the palate. It is safe to say that Carlo Pellegrino represents a kind of Sicilian institution. Founded in 1880 in the historic heart of Marsala, the world fame of the liqueur wine of the same name is closely and significantly linked to the history of the Pellegrinos. Year after year, the House's Marsalas receive top awards in Gambero Rosso and are undoubtedly among the world's best. The fact that Pellegrino is not only understood in Marsala has also been proven for many years by excellent wines. The Tripudium, for example, is indisputably one of the best red wines in Sicily.
