About the wine
Susumaniello is a red wine variety common in the Italian region of Puglia, which probably originates from Dalmatia and produces colorful red wines. It is mainly grown in the province of Brindisi.
Tasting note
Deep ruby red. The nose shows a lot of intense fruit with aromas of dried plums, red berries, black cherries and blackberry jam. Soft and elegant on the palate with wonderful melting, full-bodied with lots of fresh berry fruit, fine tannins and a long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Hearty game dishes, grilled meats, poultry, stews, aged cheeses
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at a maximum temperature of 20 degrees. Afterwards, pressing is carried out as gently as possible using modern presses. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels (Allier and Troncais), whereby the wine remains in these barriques for 6 months.
