About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Milazzo masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the fertile and blooming landscape of Sicily. We have a special, dominant Nero d'Avola from 2004 for you, which is a source of enthusiasm among many wine connoisseurs. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Nero d'Avola with pasta or hard cheese.
Tasting note
This certified organic wine is aged in French barriques for 40 months after hand-picking and 15-20 days of maceration. The top wine of Milazzo's then matures for 5 years in stainless steel tanks before being bottled. Dark purple with purple reflections. The scent is very pleasant and intense, of great complexity, with nuances of forest fruits and essences, reminiscent of mint and licorice, giving the wine a wonderful freshness. Then traces of spices are noticeable, which combine well with the nuances of vanilla and nutmeg. The taste is clean, full and harmonious. Wonderfully structured with silky, round tannins. Rich wine, complex, aromatic with a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team tip: Duca di Montalbo Sicilia IGT goes well with oxtail soup, hard cheese and risotto. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: Now - 2036.
