Escudo de Armas 2021 - Bodegas Juan Gil

About the wine

Founded in 1916 by Juan Gil Jiménez, the winery is now managed by the fourth generation and has not only been part of the Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares since 2002, but has also been the cornerstone of the Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares. The wines from the winery have permanently changed the image of the Jumilla region and the entire wine country of Spain. These pioneers of modernity still stand for freshness and desire today as they did back then. The philosophy - up to 100-year-old vineyards with low yields lay the basis for concentrated, full-bodied yet balanced wines full of fruit. This is also based on the unshakable belief in Monastrell. 100 years of wine-growing experience with this autochthonous grape variety can be found in every bottle - one of the reasons why the famous Juan Gil 12 Meses was often copied but never achieved.

Tasting note
A special bottling in small batches. A seductive, opulent wine with a deep dark red and a profound bouquet. Scent of dark fruit and compote, violets, herbs, spices and a bit of smoke. Full-bodied with great fullness, fine but solid tannins, creamy and dense, yet with a wonderful, juicy fruit on the tongue that lasts an unbelievably long time. Escudo de Armas by Juan Gil is a concentrate of ancient vines, excellent terroir and generations of experience in viticulture.
