About the wine
McLaren Vale in South Australia, south not far from Adelaide, is one of Australia's best wine-growing regions. Mark Maxwell stands his ground with his small winery and regularly receives international praise for his wines. The Maxwell Silver Hammer Shiraz makes a wink in reference to a legendary song by the Beatles. It impresses in its classic style, with typical spiciness and dark-berry fruit. Wonderful concentration and soft tannins make this generous wine a treat for the palate.
Tasting note
McLaren Vale, located south of Adelaide, is one of Australia's most renowned and oldest wine regions. The Coriole winery, whose first vineyard was planted back in 1920, is one of the best in quality in the region. The Shiraz, aged in 300-liter oak barrels called Hogshead, is deep, highly aromatic and spicy, with distinct fruit, depth and almost baroque richness, with soft tannins, long-lasting.
