About the wine
The fertile and picturesque landscapes of Trentino give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Masi conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. If you're looking for something special, then you can't miss out on this distinctive Merlot 2013 — Fojaneghe Vigneti delle Dolomiti rosso igt. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Merlot is excellent to serve with poultry or slightly spicy red meat.
Tasting note
Deep purple with purple reflections. Lavishly luscious on the nose, with complex notes of dried plums, fireplace smoke and lots of spice. Powerful on the palate. Starting with perfectly integrated acidity and rounded tannins. Captivates with notes of wild berries and powerful roasted aromas. A very well-balanced wine with an independent character and a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with roast pink meat. Also great with gnocchi with parmesan.
Vinification
The grape varieties are harvested separately and fermented in steel tanks after pressing. The assemblage is followed by ageing in barriques for around 18 months.
